History

The Fireman's Relief Association, was established in 1917 in Cedar City as a way to provide resources in the event of a fire or other disaster. Since that time, it has evolved to include services for community.

Services

  • Assistance to volunteer firemen when they are injured on an emergency call
  • Christmas for needy children in the community
  • Funds for clean clothes and food for those that have just lost everything in a fire
  • Public education programs in fire and life safety
  • Fire extinguisher training
  • Annual donation to the University of Utah burn center
The Cedar City Fire Department consists of 12 full-time personnel and 40 volunteer firefighters. As dedication to their community, each firefighter donates hundreds of hours annually in training and activities to make Cedar City a safer place.
