Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is a body of Cedar City residents who review many land use issues. Among other items, they make recommendations to the City Council regarding the City's General Plan, land use ordinances, official maps, the approval of subdivisions, and the approval of Conditional Use Permits. Where appropriate, they may also delegate their power to designated land use authorities to hear and act on a land use application.

The Planning Commission may be contacted through Amber Ray in the Engineering Department. Generally, individual contact with Planning Commission members regarding an agenda item is not authorized and could jeopardize their participation regarding the review of that item.

Planning Commission Members are residents of Cedar City, selected by the mayor, and confirmed by the City Council for four-year appointments.
