Welcome to the Cedar City Aquatic Center. To help us in keeping you and your loved ones safe, below is a list of the General Rules for enjoying the Aquatic Center. Pools can be fun and enjoyable but they are also dangerous. Remember, keep an eye on your loved ones, and follow the rules! By purchasing entrance to the Cedar City Aquatic Center, or by entering through any other program, event, or by any other means, each person or person(s) agrees to comply with the facility rules as outlined below and additionally as enforced by the Lifeguards & Aquatic Center staff.

General Pool Rules

  • Lifeguards have full authority to enforce any rules to ensure safety of patrons.
  • Aquatic diapers, plastic pants, and a swimsuit are required for any child 3 years old and younger, or any individual who does not have bowel control (Utah Code R-392-302-30-8-c)
  • Children under 5 must be within arms reach of a parent or guardian at all times. Children under 5 may not swim alone.
  • Children ages 5 - 7 must be directly supervised by an individual 15 years or older.
  • A cleansing shower is required before entering any pool, including the hot tub. It's the law!
  • Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not allow and will be removed from entering the facility.
  • Smoking/Vaping is not allowed anywhere within the facility. This includes the outdoor deck and grass areas.
  • Glass containers or any other breakable containers are not allowed in the facility.
  • No outside food is permitted.
  • Food & Beverage is to be consumed in designated areas, and must be at least 10 feet from the swimming pools or spa.
  • Only approved bathing suits are allowed in the swimming pools. Cut-offs, Jeans, or khaki material is not allowed in the pools. Patrons must wear appropriate, modest swimwear.
  • No person with a communicable disease, open sore, or infection is allowed in any pool.
  • Do not hang on lane lines or climb on interior walls.
  • No roughhousing, pushing, shoving, dunking, or tossing of others.
  • No climbing up slides and no "king of the hill" on the slip n' slide islands.
  • Only US Coast Guard Approved flotation devices are allowed during open swim.
  • We do not allow inflatables, noodles, kickboards, or Water Wings for open swim.
  • No running on the pool deck.
  • No flips off the side of the deck.
  • Only those considered swimmers are allowed in the competition pool. Anyone who cannot swim without the aid of a flotation device are prohibited.
  • Water walk is a designated exercise swim time. Anyone who cannot swim without aid of a flotation device are prohibited. Exemptions can be given for special needs persons with an aid and the discretion of staff.
  • Diving is not permitted in depths below 9ft.
  • Diving blocks are for competition use only.
  • If the lap lanes are crowded, swimmers must share either by splitting the lane or by circle swimming.

Hot Tub / Spa Rules

  • Maximum spa pool capacity is 13 persons.
  • Children under the age of 15 are prohibited from bathing in the hot tub or spa.
  • Elderly persons and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult a physician before using the spa.
  • Persons suffering from a communicable disease transmissible via water may not use the spa pool.
  • Persons using prescription medications should consult a physician before using the spa.
  • Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other impairing chemical substances should not use the spa.
  • Bathers should not use the spa alone.
  • Pregnant women should not use the spa without consulting a physician.
  • Persons should not spend more than 15 minutes in the spa in any one session.
  • Running or engaging in unsafe activities or horseplay in or around the spa is prohibited.

Waterslide Rules

  • Must be 48" tall to ride; no exceptions.
  • Only 1 rider at a time in the slide flume. 
  • Riders must go down feet first is a sitting or laying down position. Stopping, rotating, or changing position is not permitted.
  • Riders must follow all directions from the dispatcher.
  • Flotation devices, water shoes, jewelry, toys, or foreign objects are not permitted..
  • Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornaments are not permitted.
  • When exiting the slide, riders must immediately leave the landing area.
  • Riders with health concerns such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, heart disease, or who are taking prescription medication should consult a physician before using the slide.
  • Those who have conditions such as, but not limited to, back or heart problems or those who are pregnant should not use the slide. 

Outdoor Diving Pool

  • Any patron is allowed off the diving boards as long as they can swim back to safety without assistance.
  • Parents cannot catch their child off the board.
  • One person allowed on a diving board at a time.
  • Only one bounce allowed when going off the board.
  • During open swim, the deep end area is for diving board use only.
  • No lingering on the walls in the diving area.
  • No diving in the shallow end of the pool.
  • Life jackets or any other floatation devices or objects are not allowed off the diving boards.
  • No running.

Exercise Room Rules

  • Must be 16 years or older to use machines.
  • Use machines at own risk.
  • Must wear a wristband.
  • No rambunctious behavior.
  • No food allowed in the exercise room.
  • No wet attire while operating exercise equipment.
  • Be courteous with sharing time on machines.
  • Staff may stop any behavior or activity that they deem unsafe.
  • Anyone caught abusing machine will be asked to leave and will be banned from further use.
  • These rules are subject to change at any time for any reason.
