Victim Services

MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the Cedar City Police Department's Victim Services Program is to support and educate victims of crime. We are committed to upholding and defending the Victim and Witness Bill of Rights found in Utah Code 77-37-3. We will act as the liaison between the victim and the criminal justice system in order to ensure crime victims receive the appropriate services while seeking justice for crimes committed against them.

SERVICES AVAILABLE:

  • Crisis intervention and support
  • Referrals to other helpful services, both public and private
  • Assistance with Crime Victim Reparations
  • Act as the liaison between the victim and the criminal justice system
  • Case status updates
  • Provide information regarding victim rights
  • Assistance with applying for Orders of Protection
  • On-Scene response

Confidentiality Notice: Please note, pursuant to the 2019 Utah House Bill 53, this program is a systems-based advocacy program and there are limitations to confidentiality. Information shared with systems-based advocates is confidential. However, that information may be shared with the following organizations: Law Enforcement, County/City Attorney's Offices, Domestic Violence Shelters, Health Care/Mental Health Providers, The Utah Office for Victims of Crime, Parent/Guardian (if victim is a minor and parent is not the offender).

INCIDENTS OF ABUSE/NEGLECT INVOLVING A CHILD, ELDER, OR VULNERABLE ADULT MUST BE REPORTED TO CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES (CPS) OR ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES (APS) DUE TO MANDATORY REPORTING LAWS
