To Upload Documents, Request Inspection, View Permit Status.
Building Permit Application Guide
**** Water meter inspection sign off is required prior to scheduling final building inspection ****
- Username is the permit year and number. (example 16-123 the year and the last three numbers)
- The password is the first 5 characters of the builder’s name and the username.
- Inspections require a minimum of 1 business day prior notice.
Residential Submittal includes:
- Actual property address on all permit documents.
- One set of digital plans (pdf) Please separate site plan and stamped structural pages from the remainder of the plans (architectural plans) and upload each under the corresponding title on the permit files page of the application.
- Geotechnical datasheet.
- Prairie dog clearance
- Signed energy code compliance documentation.
- If applicable, Owner-Builder affidavit.
Cedar City Building Department will proceed with Plan Review upon complete Submittal.

Commercial Submittal includes:
- Actual property address is required on all permit plans/documents to be considered a complete submittal.
- One digital set of plans (pdf), including site plan, civil, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical - structurally addressed. Please upload the separate plan page sections in the document categories requested in the permit portal.
- Submit two hard copy civil plans to Engineering Department.
- Geotechnical datasheet
- Prairie dog clearance.
- Signed energy code compliance documentation.
- Completed and signed building permit application.
- Notice Criteria tool
- New Commercial buildings, pole signs, monument signs and tenant improvment permits for change of building use classification require PROJECT REVIEW MEETING attendance before a permit may be issued.
Cedar City Building Department will proceed with Plan Review upon complete Submittal.
