Gas / Electric Service Requirements
Gas Service Requirements
- Apply for Gas Meter or Mechanical Permit (When gas line is to service new furnace, water heater or other appliance) if work is not covered by another permit type.
- Complete gas piping installation and pressure test.
- Complete the Cedar City Gas Clearance Form before the inspection.
- Schedule a gas clearance inspection online. This can be done in conjunction with 4 way/ rough inspection.
- Please attach gas clearance form to online permit.
- After Gas Clearance has passed, the Clerance number from Dominion will be saved to the permit. Use that number to reference your account when calling Dominion for meter status.
Electric Service Requirements
- Apply for and obtain Building Permit. Electric Meter permits are available when the scope of work is not covered under another permit type.
- Contact Rocky Mountain Power at 888-221-7070 to obtain the necessary work order numbers. You will need a work order number for each meter base for temporary power. Then you will need another set of work order numbers for permanent power. **Temporary and Permanent power numbers will not interchange. For Townhomes or other projects with separate power meters, a separate work order number would be required for each unit.
- Complete electric meter service rough installation.
- Schedule a temporary or permanent power inspection online. At the time of inspection, you will need to put the work order number in the inspection notes. **Inspection and re-inspections will not be scheduled without the work order number.
